Pickle Suit

This is what I do when Derek talks on the phone.  Yesterday I took D to Pabu for his birthday.  We also went to see Batman.  Last week we went to an Orioles game, hung out with some Otacons, and met a guy who writes the blog 'That guy's on heroin'.

Smile

Derek told me about this cool app that frames a few pictures together into one image for faster uploading.  I decided to put together a few of my favorite photos I've taken this year. You can add captions too...

Oh and here some of the clouds on the beach the other weekend.

Dinner and a Movie

Last night we got some pizza and then walked through Artscape on our way to the movie theater.  At Artscape, there were guys dressed in their chonies playing fake guitars with flames shooting out of the neck.
We went and saw Beasts of the Southern Wild.  So depressing.  Even the funny parts were sad.

Beachy

We had fun at the beach this weekend!  We took Friday off and drove down to Wilmington, North Carolina to meet up with Dad and Pam at Uncle Pat and Aunt Jane's house.  It was super fun hanging out with Lisa and Mary Jane too.  We stopped in Richmond, VA on the way down on Friday to have some Paris Teas and croissants. Then on Saturday we all went to the beach, ate hot dogs, got Ritas, played in a Corn Hole tournament, and swam in the pool.  I miss living close to the beach.

Pop Pop

I already got a birthday gift this year!  Derek's parents got me a super awesome popsicle recipe book buy People's Pops - a Brooklyn based pop shop.  Last night I made Watermelon Ginger Pops made with ginger infused simple syrup. YUM!  They're sooo good.  I can't wait to make all the recipes.  They also got me an apron so I can stay classy while freezin' my pops. Yeah!

Severe Heat Warning

We went up to Hampden for Brunch to escape the heat.  I ate yummy Silver Dollar Pancakes.

Joo-LIE

Happy 4th of Joo-LIE!
Derek's parents are visiting for the week. Yesterday we celebrated America by the pool and in the alley eating crabs.

This was the only photo I took yesterday.  [I think the heat makes me forget to take pictures.] At least it's a cute one.

This is my favorite bottle of wine at the moment.  So light and refreshing!

And this is the cutting board that was waiting at our door when I got home tonight.  It's in the shape of Brooklyn and has a little heart cut out where Derek and I got married.  It says 'A+D 9.9.2012'  It's really cute.  I wonder who it's from??!

Poached Eggs

It's been 100+ degrees for the last week.  Yesterday, we went to Patterson Park Pool and floated for an hour and a half before they kicked us out for the regularly scheduled 'safety check'.  It was the best $1.50 I've spent all summer. Friday night we all went for pizza at Iggie's, which is this really good pizza place in Mt. Vernon.  We hung out for the rest of the night at Bank Street Mansion.  On our walk home we almost go caught in the craziest lightning storm!  We made it to the house just before it started pouring.  Half a Million people lost power in the storm... a lot of neighborhoods still didn't have power yesterday afternoon.  We'll probably go back to the pool again today.  I need to get rid of this persistant shorts tan. Then we gotta go grocery shopping and clean the house.  The In-Laws are coming!

I'm going to make poached eggs for breakfast.

GOVBALLNYC

We had a great time this weekend in NYCity for the Governors Ball music fest and celebrating Jean's birthday!  Partied in the sun (and in Washington Square Fountain), listened to music, drank some beer and ate several asia dogs and veggie tacos. I've got a pretty solid shorts tan.

I am an introvert, an excavator

Apparently, Tech N9ne Killer was playing at a venue downtown last night.  He's so bad ass - check out that airbrushed straitjacket.

We saw Santigold last night!  She is super awesome.  I love seeing her live!  Good thing we get to see her again on Saturday in NYC <3

ps. When I grow up I want to be a back up dancer for Santigold... I think I've got the booty for it.

Sails and Seamen

We caught the Colombian tall ship coming into the harbor today on our walk to work this morning.  It was so awesome to see the tug boats bringing the ship into dock.  Later, we had lunch on our studio terrace while the Blue Angels flew overhead practicing for this weekend's air show.  On our way home, we walked past the Columbian ship again and they were having a dance party on deck!  They were using the life boat as the bar area.  Clever Columbians.  So many cute sailors walking around Baltimore right now.  It's a sailabration!
