The San Diego Zoo - Part 1

For the past few weeks, I've noticed that my car has been driving a little rough. Then, out of nowhere, my exclamation light that looks like this : (!) , lit up on my dash board. So, I took it in for the regular oil change and asked the nice gentlemen at the auto shop to take a look around for what was making my car so mad. He said he thought it was my transmission and I should take it to a transmission shop.

Then I drove to San Diego and went to the zoo - see above.

On Father's Day, I went to my Uncle Butch's house to visit. (He's having me design his yard) I asked him to drive it and see what he thought about the transmission comment. He said he would take me to his transmission guy on Monday.
The transmission guy called my uncle and said that my entire transmission needed to be rebuilt! WTF! I only have 65,000 miles on the car. I've taken really good care of it too. Apparently, this sort of things happen to Fords a lot. I'm just one of the lucky ones. It's going to cost me $2000 to fix my car. I tried to get a cheaper quote, but it turns out that $2000 is cheap. Transmissions suck. Fords suck. Cars suck.
Please stay tuned for more amazing zoo pictures. (There are way too many goods ones to post all at once)

p.s. Boo Celtics!

Done and Done

The residential project that I've been working on for the past year just finished last week. It had to be done by last Friday. They had a big graduation party planned for their son last weekend and the backyard had to be perfect. Here are some pictures I took this week to show you how it turned out.
$600,000 later ...
Now we start designing the front yard.

Food Poisoning = Not Cool

I got food poisoning last Friday. It's probably the least fun thing ever. I don't think I got sick from tomatoes, but everyone assumes so.
I took this picture in Tuscany, Italy, in a small town I can't remember the name of. There were 13 of us on the trip. We decided that we wanted to walk through the countryside for our week-long visit to Tuscany. It was cold and foggy and beautiful. We stopped at a villa, some random woman's home, and a hostel overnight along the way. It was a beautiful walk.
It was also the week that Derek was in the hospital for Mono and Tonsillitis - not exactly food poisoning, but equally as lame.
