AAAhhh!

So, last night I went to drive home from work around 6:45ish, and my ignition was locked. My key wouldn’t turn at all. I tried to unlock it by wiggling the steering wheel and stepping on the brake but nothing worked.

So, an hour later I called AAA, 45 mins later they called a locksmith, and another hour later I was waiting around for the locksmith who never showed up. Long story short, I had to take a cab home last night - $85 – and didn’t get home until after 10pm. Then I had to take the bus 2 hours to work today - $2.25. Then I had to call the locksmith this morning to give me a new ignition - $265. I hate my car.

30% Chance of Rain

so random.

Bad Week Good Week

Last week was sort of a bummer. Derek and I had layoffs in our offices last Wednesday, but luckly, we both still have our jobs. But this week is starting off much better. We have a new president (!) and hopefully things will start to move onward and upward.

Canada : Part 3 : Montreal

We all went to Montreal for two days over New Years. Montreal is a 6 hour drive from Derek's parents house. The first day we stayed in the newer part of Montreal where most people live. There are lots of shops and restaurants in that area too. The second night we stayed in Old Montreal where the streets are narrow and there are a lot of really old buildings. On New Year's Eve we stayed at this really cool hotel in Old Montreal. We all went out to dinner and then walked over to one of the piers to watch the fireworks. We didn't know there was going to be a big street party waiting for us when we got there. It was really fun! Here are some photos from the trip. I have some videos I'll post too.
I forgot to add that Montreal is the coldest place ever. It was -30 C !!

Canada : Part 2 : Flying Saucers

I was involved in a freak Flying Saucer accident last Friday. We were all out for a fun afternoon of sliding when all of the sudden I broke in half. I was sliding down the hills on one of those plastic disks (aka Flying Saucer) when I hit a bump going down backwards. I managed to kick myself in the nose and smash all of the muscles and bones in my lower back. It hurt. It still hurts and it happened 5 days ago. Here are some photos of us having fun on Derek's cousin's driveway before the accident. I've also sketched out a section of the location of the accident for your enjoyment.

Canada : Part 1 : Rutherglen

I had a good time in Canada. It was very pretty with all the snow and Derek's family were really nice to hang out with over the holidays. Here are some photos of Derek's parents house and the town they live in.

Happy New Year!!

Coming Soon... more photos from Canada
