Vancouver 2010 Olympic Village

Everyone started building these rock people on the False Creek shoreline in front of the Provincial Houses. There were hundreds of them and they were really cool. I tried to make one but it kept falling over. Jordan made a mini one.

Hurricane Potato = Deep fried potato on a stick.
Are those PEI potatoes?
Gretzky was here.

Everyone had Maple Leafs on. So much red and white everywhere.

We went to Granville Island. There's all these art galleries and studios, jewelry stores, a Boqueria style Market Place, and seagulls that try to dive bomb your head.

We had a great time in Vancouver. The city is so beautiful; it has mountains, and harbors, and the Pacific Ocean, and Killer Whales, and tall buildings, and fun bars and restaurants, and sweet public transit. We had hockey tickets to the Germany v Finland game. It was really fun listening to the German fans clap and sing and chant Deutschland!! even though Finland won 5-0. But the really great part was when USA beat Canada 5-3 on Sunday night!!! We were at a friend's house and everyone was pissed at the guys who brought the American chicks.
It was even fun just to walk through the streets and see the THOUSANDS of people dressed up in their country's colors. Everyone was singing and dancing and cheering and drunk. I think the City of Vancouver did a really great job helping people get around. They had volunteers giving out directions and extra trains and buses running all day. Everyone was really nice. We definitely lucked out with the weather. It didn't rain once all weekend. It felt like Spring Break for us - it was a toasty 50 degrees instead of Baltimore's freezing high of 30.

NYC Birthday

We surprised our friend Cassie in NYC for her 30th birthday this weekend. We had a lot of fun and Cassie was super surprised. We ate Maoz Falafel, hung out at the Superdive, ate at Pomme Frits, danced to crappy country music (Cassie danced on the bar), shopped in SOHO, and went to Barking Dog for breakfast with Mel and Jean. I heart NY.

Snow:2 Baltimore:0

We had another blizzard yesterday that dumped another 18" of snow on top of the massive amounts of snow we got over the weekend. There's so much snow that I'm convinced it's never going to melt. Derek and I ventured out into the storm to the local beer establishment to play Yahtzee and have some drinks with friends.
Check out my snow angel making skills. Jealous?

Holy Blizzard. This is crazy. It started snowing on Friday night and 36" later it stopped. It's so much fun! This town is awesome. Here are some photos I've taken since Friday night. I've been hanging out with my friends at Bank Street. We've been eating and drinking and inner tubing and drinking all weekend. One of the guys that lives down the street from them built a bar out of snow in the front of their house. Sweet. I wish you all were here to party in the streets with us.

Happy Birthday Sister!! I miss you tons.
