Photo Photo from Maili

I discovered the KCRW and MPR (The Current) apps on my iphone today. So now I can listen to the wonders of my favorite internet radio waves anywhere and everywhere. Genius.

Rain and Lighting and Flying Buses

D and I took the Bolt Bus up to NY this weekend. The bus was cool - super cheap and easy. (That's what she said) We met up with Maili and Casey and their friends Jacob and Monica at their hotel. Then we met up with Mel and Jean and their friends Derek and Dinah and Alexia at a bar in the Lower East Side. The bars don't close in NY until 4am. We had a fun night. The next day we had brunch at a cool new restaurant at the Jane Hotel and shopped around in Soho all afternoon.
Friday night we went to see XX at Sonar in Baltimore. They were really good but I didn't like the venue too much due to the dick head security guards.

Why don't you go kick a duck.

I was kind of semi-depressed all weekend. I was feeling a little homesick which sucks when you have to be fake nice to people all day at a job that also sucks AND it was Coachella this weekend and I wasn't there. Super bummer. When I was walking home from work yesterday I saw a duck sleeping on the edge of a pier. I felt like kicking off the pier and into the water. But I didn't.
It was nice, however, to have Derek's parents over for to visit. We had a good time sightseeing and trying out some new restaurants. I know Derek was happy to see them.
This morning I smashed my finger so hard putting away dishes. It's still throbbing and swollen and starting to turn purple.

Pleasant Spring!

It's 90+ degrees in Baltimore.
Easter Sunday we went to brunch at Bank Street. We all made yummy food and drank mimosas on the roof deck. Then we had an Easter egg hunt, played Hows It Hangin in the alley, and had an egg toss in the park. Buck and I got third place, Brett won both rounds, and Derek got the prize for 'widest stance during the catching of the egg'.
Monday night Derek and I had a BBQ out in our backyard and drank a bottle of really good Spanish wine.
Tuesday a woman came into the flower shop and got two flowers out of the cooler. Then she asked me if they were white carnations. I said no, they were roses. Then she said oh, ok, I need white carnations. Then put them on the counter and left.
Tuesday night I got off work at 6p and walked to the bus stop to catch the bus at 6:45p - which is a long wait but it's a better bus route that will take me all the way home instead of having to transfer downtown. An hour and a half later the bus still hadn't shown up, so I decided to walk further down the route just in case, for whatever reason, they were skipping that stop. Half and hour later, still nothing. I didn't know if I should keep waiting or try to catch a cab but it was getting dark and I was super far from home. So I decided to keep walking and try to find a cab if I could. When I flagged one taxi down, he already had a fare in the back but wanted to see where I was going anyway. 2 miles and 2.5 hours later the bus finally came. When we got downtown, they kicked everyone off at the Baltimore Arena. I didn't really know where I was and there were Ringling Circus trucks everywhere. I had to catch another bus a half mile away. At 9:30 I finally made it home.
Today a slightly obese woman in an electric blue spandex cat suit halter with the zipper in the front came into the store and bought a plant.
I got off work a little early today and walked to the bus stop hoping that it would show up. When I got to the stop I realized that I didn't have any ones or enough change for the bus fare. So I had to walk back to the gas station and get change for a $5 and walk back.
Baby ducks were swimming in the fountain downtown.
While waiting for the bus, I saw a truck that said 'B&M Services. Put your junk in our trunk."
