smash

A car smashed into the back of my car on Friday night. In the rain. On the freeway. During rush hour.
It was super gnarly.
And now I am driving around in a Buick.
Sweet.

When I grow up I want to play the drums.

We just got on the bus and then this guy yells 'Does anybody got a extra dollar?'. No one responds. Then the driver tells him he has to get off. He gets all pissed and hits a Jamba Juice out of this other guy's hand and jumps off the bus. Instead of being mad at the guy who made him spill his Jamba Juice, the guy gets pissed at the bus driver and starts yelling for his $5 back that he spent on the smoothie - like bus drivers don't have enough bullshit to deal with. Then everybody else on the bus starts yelling at the guy to sit down and shut up but he keeps on yelling like a jackass. So the bus driver calls the cops. If you don't get off the bus right after the driver makes the call to the Police he can make you stay as a witness to the incident and you could be stuck there for hours. So everyone who was on the bus jumped off at the same time and swarmed the next bus in line. We got to the Troubadour (after suffing our faces with Indian Food) and watched this band from Brooklyn that Derek likes. The best part of the night came when the band played a cover of The Final Countdown by Europe.

Miss Van is cool

Miss Van is cool because she is from Barcelona.
Miss Van is cool because she started out as a graffiti artist.
Miss Van is cool because her paintings are beautiful.
Miss Van is cool because I saw her once when she was in LA.
Miss Van is cool because when I was in Barcelona I saw one of her tags at the Boqueria.
Miss Van is cool because one day I'm going to save up enough money to buy one of her prints.

Miss Van is cool because she does it in metric.

AAAhhh!

So, last night I went to drive home from work around 6:45ish, and my ignition was locked. My key wouldn’t turn at all. I tried to unlock it by wiggling the steering wheel and stepping on the brake but nothing worked.

So, an hour later I called AAA, 45 mins later they called a locksmith, and another hour later I was waiting around for the locksmith who never showed up. Long story short, I had to take a cab home last night - $85 – and didn’t get home until after 10pm. Then I had to take the bus 2 hours to work today - $2.25. Then I had to call the locksmith this morning to give me a new ignition - $265. I hate my car.

30% Chance of Rain

so random.

Bad Week Good Week

Last week was sort of a bummer. Derek and I had layoffs in our offices last Wednesday, but luckly, we both still have our jobs. But this week is starting off much better. We have a new president (!) and hopefully things will start to move onward and upward.

Canada : Part 3 : Montreal

We all went to Montreal for two days over New Years. Montreal is a 6 hour drive from Derek's parents house. The first day we stayed in the newer part of Montreal where most people live. There are lots of shops and restaurants in that area too. The second night we stayed in Old Montreal where the streets are narrow and there are a lot of really old buildings. On New Year's Eve we stayed at this really cool hotel in Old Montreal. We all went out to dinner and then walked over to one of the piers to watch the fireworks. We didn't know there was going to be a big street party waiting for us when we got there. It was really fun! Here are some photos from the trip. I have some videos I'll post too.
I forgot to add that Montreal is the coldest place ever. It was -30 C !!

Canada : Part 2 : Flying Saucers

I was involved in a freak Flying Saucer accident last Friday. We were all out for a fun afternoon of sliding when all of the sudden I broke in half. I was sliding down the hills on one of those plastic disks (aka Flying Saucer) when I hit a bump going down backwards. I managed to kick myself in the nose and smash all of the muscles and bones in my lower back. It hurt. It still hurts and it happened 5 days ago. Here are some photos of us having fun on Derek's cousin's driveway before the accident. I've also sketched out a section of the location of the accident for your enjoyment.

Canada : Part 1 : Rutherglen

I had a good time in Canada. It was very pretty with all the snow and Derek's family were really nice to hang out with over the holidays. Here are some photos of Derek's parents house and the town they live in.

Happy New Year!!

Coming Soon... more photos from Canada

Best Card Ever.

I got this card at work today. It's from one of the residential projects I've been working on. This is her dog named Cowboy. Awesome.
