Busy Week

Our friend Stacey has been visiting us from Canada for the past week. We've been busy dragging her all around Southern California. She probably needs a vacation from her vacation.

Full Metal Kickball

On Sunday we played in a kickball tourney in Irvine. I played on a team with a bunch of coworkers and Derek was on a team with his coworkers. We won one and lost one. Derek's team won 2 and lost 1. It was fun. 25 teams participated and we raised $2000 for a local youth charity.

AIDS Lifecycle

On Saturday Casey and Maili rode into town with the AIDS Lifecycle. Everyone ended their 550 mile ride in Los Angeles at the VA Hospital. Lifecycle raised 10.5 Million for both organizations in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Pretty cool. It was a seven day ride down PCH, up hill, in the rain. There were about 2,000 Riders and another 1,000 Roadies. It was fun to watch them all ride in together.

Happy Birthday Mom!

To celebrate Mom's birthday we all went to the Little Door for dinner. I made a cake shaped like a watermelon that didn't taste good. It was way too sweet and had too much food coloring. (But it's how you look on the outside that counts) I also convinced Martine to get her face sculpted with me so we could give it to our mother as a birthday gift. (Another genius idea.) This little old Asian man who sits on 3rd street did it. I think it's pretty amazing how accurate they are. Spot on! Then after dinner we went to El Carmen tequila bar and spoke Spanish. Yet another amazing birthday celebration.
And today is Mel's birthday!! Happy Birthday Melanie! Woo hoo!
